Muslims around the world will celebrate the Islamic New Year of 1439 Hijrah this Thursday. The national celebration will be held at all mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide with the focus being at the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampung Kiarong. To ensure the smooth running of the event, a full rehearsal was held yesterday morning.

Present to witness the rehearsal was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the Chairman of the Major Islamic Events Celebrations for the 1439 Hijrah Executive Committee. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. Among the programs will be holding doa prayers to mark the end of 1438 Hijrah and in ushering in the new year. This year's national level celebration will carry the theme "Kepimpinan Adil Teras Kesejahteraan".
