Medical & Health Services Facilities Are Rapidly Developed

The Ministry of Health strives to draft policies, plans and execute initiatives in generating the citizens' health towards realising Wawasan Brunei 20-35 and the Ministry of Health's "Together Towards Healthy Citizens" vision. The Minister of Health said it must be carried out holistically by stressing on the importance of the Whole of Nation approach. In line with that, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the establishment of 'Multi-sectoral Task Force for Health' to provide strategic guidance and support for the country's efforts to ensure safety and increase citizens and residents' health. The Minister of Health explained these matters during an exclusive interview with RTB in a documentary segment entitled "KEPIMPINAN BERKAT DARUSSALAM, KEMENTERIAN KESIHATAN" in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi said the main role of the taskforce is to ensure collaboration between government and non-government agencies in providing a forum to coordinate work plans which gives an impact to health issues in the country.

In conjunction with the golden jubilee of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne, the citizens and residents expressed their gratitude for His Majesty's care and attention towards health affairs in the country. Under His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's wise leadership, the medical and health services facilities are rapidly developing and this is evident by the country's health and medical infrastructure. This shows that His Majesty's is truly concerned for the well-being and prosperity of the citizens so that they can obtain high quality and comprehensive health services.

Apart from that, the Ministry of Health has also underlined three strategic priorities for a 5 year period as of 2015. Firstly, to drive the "Health is everyone's business" agenda; secondly, preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases and thirdly, to enhance the quality of service delivery. Towards this, His Majesty's government will continue to enhance efforts in developing a more effective current as well as future health facilities and initiatives, in line with the mission of the Ministry of Health.
