A Malaysian Man Sentenced In Customs Case

A Malaysian man was sentenced to 64 thousand dollars or 12 months imprisonment by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate Court for an offence of possessing customs contraband.
43 year old, Sii Phang Cheh, was arrested yesterday during an inspection at Kuala Lurah Control Post. He was found guilty for possessing 56 cartons of cigarette of various types, 36 bottles and 2 cans of alcoholic drinks. The defendant settled the fine, while all the contraband items were confiscated to be destroyed and the car returned.
