​A permanent resident was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for an offence under Excise Order 2006.

33-year old, Sofian Bin Abdullah was found guilty of possessing 48 packets of cigarette of various brands at a house in Kampung Lumapas. The defendant was fined 4 thousand 400 dollars or 5 months imprisonment in default. The defendant given a period of 2 months to settle the fine. All contrabands were confiscated to be destroyed.
