The moment a drunken brawl led to a teenage girl being pushed into a churchyard pond has been captured on film.

Student Dainius Nevardauskas, who filmed the fracas, said it started when a ‘drunk’ woman asked two teenagers for a cigarette but was refused.

The picturesque churchyard in Wibech, Cambridgeshire, then descended into a fighting pit as dozens of teens and some people who appear to be older get involved in the violent dispute.

At one point a woman clasping a can of beer gets out of her mobility scooter and pushes a teenage girl into a pond, before the girl emerges from the water to drag her attacker to the ground.

The woman manages to keep her beer from spilling throughout the affray.

Darius called the scene ‘carnage’.

He added: ‘That woman who got pushed into the fountain was clearly drunk. Everyone kept saying to her ‘go away and leave that girl alone’ but everyone else around was drunk as well.

‘It just shows that binge drinking should be stopped. Apparently that girl was fighting other people that day too.’

He added that after he switched his camera off the police arrived and arrested one woman.

Coincidentally, a petition to curb street drinking in Wisbech reached 2,000 signatures on the day of the fight.

Police have confirmed that a woman in her 20s was arrested for common assault and has been released under investigation.
