Road accident in Vientiane Capital

VIETIANE
Seven hundred people were killed in road accidents around the country between January and the end of August 2017.
Of the death tolls, 151 were reported in Vientiane Capital. The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security reported that 3,873 accidents were recorded nationwide. The accidents resulted in 6,402 people injured and 7,021 vehicles damaged.
The number of road accidents continues to increase, with many people dying due to dangerous driving.
About 90 per cent of road accidents resulted from drink driving, speed driving and violations of the traffic rules. Most accidents occurred at weekends and on special occasions when people get together to drink.
