Get-Together Ceremony with Brunei Darussalam Contingent

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this morning consented to attend a Get-Together Ceremony with Brunei Darussalam Contingent taking part in the 29th SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017, held at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.
His Majesty was greeted on arrival at the Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Chef de Mission of Brunei Darussalam's Contingent and General Manager of the Royal Chulan Kuala Lumpur.
Also in attendance at the Get-Together ceremony were His Majesty's brothers and children, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, as Manager of the Polo Team; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; Her Royal Highness Princess `Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, who is also participating in the Mixed Polo Event at the Southeast Asian Games and Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah as Manager of the Netball Team.
Soon after arrival, His Majesty was accorded for a group-photo session with Brunei Darussalam Contingent to the Southeast Asian Games and later was introduced to athletes of respective events.
Also accompanying His Majesty at the ceremony was His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohd Taha, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia.
Brunei Darussalam contingent at the 29th Southeast Asian Games comprises of 172 people including 105 athletes and 67 officials. In this games, Brunei Darussalam is participated in 14 events being competed and to date, has collected 1 silver and 5 bronze medals through sepak takraw, netball and wushu events with Sepak Takraw contributed 3 out of the 6 medals in the event.
