Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) yesterday held the second Enterprise Open Day (EOD) at the multi-purpose hall of Jefri Bolkiah Engineering College (MKJB) in Kuala Belait.

The event saw 178 visitors attending the one-day event to take advantage of the various booths comprising different agencies which offered one to one clinics alongside talks conducted by Brunei Vision 2035 Secretariat, the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Unit under the Prime Minister's Office, DARe and the Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO).

Some of the attendees expressed that their visit was fruitful as most of their questions were answered by participating agencies.

According to the business.gov.bn website, statistics show that out of the 138 raised during the first EOD in January 2016, 135 have been closed with the most raised issue being 'requests for business advisory services'.

Dayangku Hajah Siti Normardinah binti Pengiran Haji Omarali who headed the EOD expressed that the turnout of the visitors was more than expected.

"As the main purpose of the event was to be an initiative to reach out to entrepreneurs, we're happy that many showed great interest in the open days," she said.

The several agencies present at the EOD were Brunei Vision 2035 Secretariat, the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Unit under the Prime Minister's Office, FAST Centre (FDI Action and Support Centre), Registry of Companies and Business Names (ROCBN), Revenue Division, and Royal Customs and Excise Department under the Ministry of Finance, Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO), e-Government National Centre (eGNC), Labour Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), Baiduri Bank Berhad, Employees Trust Fund (TAP), Authority for Building of Control and Construction Industry (ABCi), Town and Country Planning Department, Land Department and the Department of Water Services under the Ministry of Development, OneBiz, municipal department, LiveWIRE Brunei, the Department of Electrical Services (DES), Industry Competency Framework (ICF) and Local Business Development (LBD) under the Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister's Office (EIDPMO) and BAG Networks.
