Glamour, glitter and suspense will be the order of the day when the inaugural Anugerah Pilihan Online 2016 (APO2016) reaches its climax tonight.

Celebrities received a total of 775,161 online votes, with voting drawing to a close on Wednesday.

The winners are selected entirely through online votes.

Entertainment, sports and lifestyle personalities, including celebrity chefs, are set to grace the purple carpet.

The event will be aired live over TV2 at 9pm from Auditorium P. Ramlee.

In line with the theme and the contemporary era of technology, the APO2016 finale can also be viewed via live streaming at http://apo.mstar.com.my/malam-anugerah.aspx, www.mstar.com.my and Astro’s TVi Channel 180 from 7.30pm.

Awards will be presented in 18 categories, including Best Online Choice Actor and Actress, Best Online Choice Male and Female Singer, Online Choice Celebrity Comedian, Online Choice Radio Presenter, Online Choice Sportsman and Sportswoman, and D’nars Choice Most Handsome and Most Pretty picks.

Other categories include Online Choice Celebrity Chef and Online Choice Social Media Celebrity.

The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the APO2016 Excellent Personality.

Ella, Hazama, Dayang Nurfaizah, One Nation Emcee, Azlan, Adi Putra and Amar Baharin will be among those providing entertainment, jazzed up with elements reflecting the concept of digital transformation.

Adibah Nor, Awal Ashaari and Suria FM deejay Baki Zainal will be the hosts.

APO2016 is organised by the Star Media Group’s mStar Online and Suria FM. The main sponsor is Kosmetik D’nars.

D’nars founder Faziani Rohban said she was excited about the first such event sponsored by the company which had attracted great participation.

APO2016 has shown great potential from the time online voting opened on March 3 for the top five in each category. By March 31, it had attracted some 200,000 votes.
