BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The bridge at Taman Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in the capital has been repaired. The re-opening of the bridge was launched this morning during the Corporate Responsibility Day organised by Maybank Brunei.

Officiating the ceremony was Awang Haji Ali bin Matyassin, Chairman of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board, and Lim Yu Kwang, Country Head and General Manager of Maybank Brunei. The event ran concurrently with tree planting and handing over of donations in the form of cleaning equipment to Awang Denis Ho Mun Tai, Director of Politeknik Brunei. Over 200 volunteers took part in a cleaning campaign around the park. They comprised 100 Politeknik Brunei students, Maybank employees and members of SMARTER Brunei, supported by staff from the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board. In conjunction with the event, SMARTER Brunei will hold a 2-day 'garage sale' at the park until tomorrow.
