​All penghulu mukim and village chiefs are reminded to urge village residents to take active roles for the upcoming Golden Jubilee of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne in October this year.

This was stated by Yang Berhormat, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs during the First Muzakarah or Discussion Session with Penghulu Mukim and Village Chiefs in the Brunei Muara District this morning at the Brunei Muara District Office.

Yang Berhormat stressed that now is the most relevant time for the country's citizens and residents to express their undivided loyalty towards the Monarch.Touching on the current development of the Penghulu Mukim and Village Chief Services Scheme introduced in 2015, Yang Berhormat Pehin explained that the scheme is now at the final assessment and observation level, conducted by several related agencies to facilitate the Penghulu Mukim and Village Chiefs' coordination with the scheme.

The Muzakarah session is a continuation of the meeting between District Officers, Penghulu Mukim and Village Chiefs. The aim of the meeting was to discuss current issues faced by penghulu mukim and village chiefs, apart from exchanging views in improving the existing services.

 Among those in attendance were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, and Yang Berhormat Awang Naim bin Haji Kamis, Members of the Legislative Council, Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Ali and Awang Haji Md Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, the Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs, and dan Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Brunei Muara District Officer.
