The 14th Southeast Asia Survey Congress also discussed on the most recent technologies and applications to exchange innovative ideas and experience, and to promote future research opportunities in the fields related to surveying, Mapping, Land Management, Disaster Management and other related fields. More than 15 working papers were presented this afternoon at Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

Mr Loi Hwee Yong from Singapore among other things said land surveyors are the experts in the determination of cadastral boundaries and encroachments. He added unfortunately, many surveyors do not realise that their expertise can extend beyond simple procedural determination of land boundaries.

In another working paper presented by Dayang Bilkis Sa'ar Kabri from the Survey Department, among others touched on the rational for establishing the Strata Act in Brunei Darussalam is to promote the interest of the public own strata properties and foreigners to invest in multi development via strata title. The session will resume tomorrow with various topics and best practices presented by international researchers and practitioners especially in the Asia Region.
