Rain did not dampen the spirit of  Kuching city residents and the contingents participating in the Kuching Parade last night.

The parade started from  the Padungan Fire Station and winding through Padungan  to walk past the grand stand in front of the Hilton hotel here.

The contingents staged a short performance as they walked past the grand stand.

Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the parade.

Also present during the ceremony were Abang Johari’s wife Datin Amar Datuk Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, DUN Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Awang Asfia, DBKU mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, MBKS mayor Datuk James Chan and others.

Kuching City Parade has been an annual event in Kuching city since 1989.
