His Majesty the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was pleased to send congratulatory messages to President of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong in conjunction with the Republic of Singapore's National Day Anniversary.

In a letter congratulating the President of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency, Tony Tan Keng Yam, His Royal Highness expressed excitement to fulfill his Excellency's invitation to visit the Republic of Singapore in which he and her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha had the opportunity to reinforce the commitment of both parties to the friendship and Special and unique cooperation between the two countries, especially for their respective people and hopefully will be able to continue the close cooperation in the coming years.

Meanwhile, in the same message to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, appreciated the hospitality given by His Excellency and Madam Ho Ching during the His State Visit to the Republic of Singapore describing the long-standing friendship enjoyed by the people of Brunei Darussalam with the citizens of the Republic of Singapore at all levels in various fields.

He further hopes to continue to work with His Excellency towards strengthening important and valuable bilateral relations in both bilateral and regional cooperation, especially when Singapore becomes the Chairman of ASEAN next year.

At the end of his messages to His Excellency, Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam and His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, His Majesty expressed his kind regards and best wishes to them and their family and that they are in good health and joy.
