Local Woman Fined 13 thousand 500 dollars

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

​A local woman was fined 13 thousand 500 dollars by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates Court for nine counts of offences under Section 12 (1)(a) of the Passports Act, Chapter 146, for changing without legal authority the validity date of professional visit passes issued to nine citizens from the People's Republic of China.

 

45 year old Emma binti Haji Abdul Rahman @ Emma binti Abdullah was fined one thousand five hundred dollars or one month imprisonment in default for each count. The total fine was 13 thousand 5 hundred dollars or 9 months imprisonment in default. The defendant was given a period until the 25th of October this year to settle the fine.
