Effectively managed human resource will guarantee job development and satisfaction which contribute to the growth of society's socio-economy and improve national competitiveness. Hence, the Administrative and Financial Section of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, especially the Human Resource Development Unit is striving to ensure that all levels of the Ministry and departments under it will be able to manage environmental challenges through effective human resource practices. This in turn will ensure continued excellent progress and development. The matter was highlighted by Awang Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports at the official launch of the Personnel Improvement Programme of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it yesterday. Awang Haji Noor Jusmin said the programmes stemmed from the Ministry's Human Resource Action Plan that covers strategies and plans in managing human resources, implementing policies, human resource regulations and development, performance appraisal for employees' progress, career advancement, developing organisational structure for productivity and progress, annual training, leadership, financial administration and public relations. About ninety officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports from Divisions 2 to 5 are attending the programme beginning today until the 12th of next month. The programme targets officers and staff who have been working for about five years. The training is conducted in two phases. In the first phase, all the briefings will take place at the Ministry's Dewan Digadong. During the first phase, almost all the briefing contents are obtained from the Civil Service Institute or IPA and focus on the induction course. In the second phase, the participants will hear more briefings and visit Departments and sections according to set schedules. Throughout the second phase, the participating officers and staff will be exposed to the roles and responsibilities of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and departments under it.
