160 officers and staff of the Ministry of Education and departments under it yesterday received the Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) or Long Service Medal in conjunction with the 70th birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

 The medals were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education. Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Education and Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.

 The presentation of medals is recognition and a show of appreciation for the recipient's contributions towards the monarch and government, and for carrying out their entrusted duties with full dedication.
