Khatam Al-Quran ceremony can encourage the participants to always remain close to the Holy Quran through their reading and understanding of the verses. In instilling such a practice, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Religious School yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony for its Year 6 students. The ceremony was held at the Multi-purpose Hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School.

The ceremony began with the Reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, as the Deputy Co-Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School Board of Governors, followed by the reading of surah-surah khatam from Surah Ad-Duha up to Surah Al-Masad by the khatam participants. This year, 62 pupils - 30 boys and 32 girls - had successfully completed reading 30 juzuk of Al-Quran.
