A ‘panda cub’ that was being pimped out to tourists to take photos turned out to actually be a pet dog.
Concerned locals had apparently called police after spotting the animal in Monastir, Sochi, Russia.
They had seen a street trader charging tourists to take snaps with it.
But officers had a surprise in store for them when they arrived and discovered the pet was not an endangered panda.
It was actually a Chow Chow puppy and his unnamed owner had allegedly dyed him black and white to fool people.
Witnesses had claimed the owner made the animal work in harsh conditions, including when it was 40C outside.
The street trader may also have other animals that may not be what they seem.
