JDT Boss Ulisses Morais 'Not Satisfied' Despite 11 Point Lead At Top Of MSL

Coach Ulisses Morais says Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are refusing to rest on their laurels, despite taking an 11-point lead at the Malaysia Super League (MSL) summit, following a 3-1 victory over Sarawak on Saturday night.

Egyptian striker Mohammed Ghaddar fired a brace at Larkin Stadium before young winger Safawi Rasid added a third to seal JDT's 12th league win of the season.

Victory sees the Southern Tigers closing in on a fourth consecutive league title after Kedah slipped at home against Selangor for a 1-1 draw.

Despite only needing nine points from their remaining six matches, Morais was cautious and reflective as he chases a first trophy since taking over from Ben Mora last month.

"I am very happy with the result against Sarawak. However, there are still some actions from the players that have not satisfied me yet," said Morais via the Southern Tigers Facebook page.

"We cannot be too comfortable because anything can happen. It is true we have a large difference with other teams, but we still need to work hard because we want to give the best to Southern Tigers fans."

The Portuguese boss praised the two-goal hero Ghaddar, who has now scored 22 times in the MSL in 2017 for JDT and his previous team, Kelantan.

"Ghaddar is a great striker, as proven with his two goals for the team. But we cannot focus on specific individuals because we cannot ignore other players who have also worked hard for 90 minutes," Morais said.

JDT would wrap up the MSL title if they beat T-Team, Perak and Selangor in their next three MSL games.

Violence also marred the MSL as Perak and Kelantan supporters clashed after the game in Kota Bharu, which the former won 2-0.

The ugly incident saw supporters throw chairs at each other after the match at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium.

The quick intervention of the police ensured that nobody was hurt. But both sides are likely to be punished by the Football Association of Malaysia for failing to control their supporters.

An eighth league defeat meant Kelantan dropped to eighth in the league, while Perak are equal sixth with Selangor.

Malaysia domestic action will focus on the Malaysia Cup on Tuesday before the MSL resumes next weekend.
