Because of being in possession of customs contraband, a permanent resident was brought before the Kuala Belait Magistrates Court on charges under Section 146 (1) (d) of the Excise Order 2006.

 35 year old, Chin Siang Fung, was brought before the Court for being in possession of 5 cartons of cigarettes. The accused pleaded guilty and was fined 3 thousand 500 dollars or 3 months imprisonment in default. The defendant was given a period of 6 months to settle the fine. All contraband was seized to be destroyed.
