Two foreign nationals have been sent to jail for offences under the Immigration Act.
Elis Lisnawati, a 32-years-old Indonesian national has been sentenced to six months in prison for overstaying in the country after her Visit Pass had expired for 514 days. She was arrested by enforcement officers from the Immigration and National Registration Department at a rented house in Kampung Tasek Meradun in the Brunei Muara District.
Another Indonesian national, Samsudjadi who is 57 years old has been sentenced to four months in prison for entering and staying in the country without any valid Immigration Pass. He was taken into custody yesterday after surrendering himself at the Law Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department.
