​A local man today was fined twelve thousand three hundred dollars or 12 months imprisonment in default by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate Court under the Excise Order 2006.

39-year-old Mohd Fadzellah Bin Abdullah was found guilty of having in possession 16 cartons of cigarettes of various brands without permit at a house in Kampung Keramut, Danau, Tutong on the 7th of June. The accused was ordered to pay five hundred dollars a month as of the end of this month until the fine is settled. All cigarettes were seized to be destroyed.
