Faithfully and Continuously Performing Religious Deeds

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Muslims are urged to faithfully perform their religious deeds and strive towards self-improvement continuously and to remain devoted to Allah the Almighty even amid the Hari Raya celebration. The reminder came from the Friday Sermon yesterday, entitled, ISTIQAMAH DALAM MENGERJAKAN AMAL IBADAT" or "Faithfully and Continuously Performing Religious Deeds."

In the sermon, the prayer leader stressed that Islam requires us Muslims to continuously perform religious and welfare deeds. Therefore, what we had done during the month of Ramadhan, such as performing sunat prayers, tadarus, giving alms and the like, apart from the obligatory religious performances, should continue in the following months. We will keep the religious spirit alive by being continuously and consistently committed in our devotion towards Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala. Istiqamah is steadfastness in one's adherance to the Islamic akidah or religious belief and teachings, and keeping on with such a noble unwavering stance is much better than performing numerous good deeds occasionally.
