Today was the first of 3 days that Istana Nurul Iman opens to the public in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Alam received in audience and junjung ziarah from the citizens and residents in the country.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience and junjung ziarah from the male well-wishers. Also in attendance were His Majesty's brothers and sons, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel. Also in attendance were other members of the Royal Family. Among the well-wishers who came in the morning were officers and staff of various ministries including the Prime Minister's Office, government officers and Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel.

Meanwhile at another part of Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received in audience and junjung ziarah from the female well-wishers. Accompanying Her Majesty were Her Majesty's daughters and sister, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al Islam. Also present were Her Majesty's grandchildren.

Visiting Istana Nurul Iman in a joyous festive atmosphere is an opportunity which does not normally come on normal days. During this Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, visitors get a chance to visit the Istana, greet and meet their beloved ruler and the Royal Family to convey their Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings.

In the morning, some 18 thousand 930 well-wishers went to the Istana for the Hari Raya audience and junjung ziarah with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as well as other members of the Royal family.
