Transfer Target Dani Alves Has Won More Than Manchester City

ESPNFC.COM

Pep Guardiola wants to bring winners to Manchester City and he can't get anyone more successful than transfer target Dani Alves, who has won more trophies in his career than his prospective new club.

The Brazilian defender won the double with Italian giants Juventus last season to take his incredible personal trophy haul to 33 medals.

City, meanwhile, have won 18 trophies in their history -- four league titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups and one European triumph -- the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1970.

In a spectacular eight years at Barcelona, Alves won 23 major trophies alone, including six La Liga titles, three Champions League and five Copa del Rey.

The 34-year-old needs three more trophies to equal the record held by recently retired former teammate Maxwell, who won 36 medals during his time at Cruzeiro, Ajax, Inter, Barcelona and Paris St-Germain. But Alves can claim to be level by adding in the three trophies he won with Brazil -- the 2007 Copa America and two Confederation Cup wins.

Add to that another 20 personal honours and there could hardly be a more decorated player ready to bring the winning mentality to the Etihad that Guardiola is desperate for.
