The Kampung Sungai Akar Consultative Council and the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah mosque takmir late yesterday held the second monitoring and 'tasmik' or checking session of Al-Quran reading for the 50 times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne. The ceremony took place at the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampung Sungai Akar.
 

 

 

 

Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, who is also the Patron of the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah mosque. 270 participants comprising adults, youths and children from Kampung Sungai Akar and its surrounding areas took part in the ceremony. Apart from instilling an Al-Quran reading culture among Kampong Sungai Akar residents, the ceremony also aimed to glorify the mosque with beneficial side activities.
