President of the National Assembly Pany Yathortou on Jun 21 met in Vientiane with her Cambodian counterpart Heng Samrin who is on a working visit between Jun 21-23.
At the meeting, Ms Pany noted that the visit by the chairman of the National Assembly of Cambodia has contributed to strengthening the relations and cooperation between the two neighbours, especially on legislative affairs.
She highly appreciated the outcome of the growing and deepening cooperation between the two countries over the past years, including the visit to Laos by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in 2016 and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith’s visit to Cambodia on the occasion of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN in May this year.
“The cooperation between the two national assemblies of Laos and Cambodia has been actively enhanced as both sides have built their cooperation according to the memorandum of understanding signed in 2012. The constant exchange of visits and lessons between officials of the two national assemblies have contributed to mutual support and assistance at regional and international arena,” said Ms Pany.
