The body of a Bangladeshi construction worker was found cut into several pieces at a single-storey house in Kampung Lebai Man in Sungai Petani.
Kedah police chief Commissioner Datuk Asri Yusoff said the body parts of Azad Late Mofyan Uddin, 38, were found in three plastic sacks and hidden in the kitchen cabinet at about 1am yesterday.
“The victim’s girlfriend lodged a report when she could not locate him after Saturday.
“A team of policemen then accompanied the woman to the house. Although it was locked, we managed to enter the house using the spare keys provided by the woman,” he said, adding that the remains were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further action.
Comm Asri said initial investigations revealed that the victim had a valid travel document and had been renting the house since February.
Police are looking for his two housemates who are also Bangladeshis.
They are Md Julfikar, 37, a helper at a frozen food shop and Nur, 50, a factory worker.
“We believe they can shed some light on our investigation,” he said.
Comm Asri urged those with any information on the whereabouts of the victim’s two housemates to contact the nearest police station.
