Ramadhan School Session Begins Throughout the Country

 May 30th, 2017  |  07:24 AM  |   4423 views

The Ramadhan school session begins today throughout the country but fasting has not weakened the students' will and spirit in their pursuit of knowledge. No food and no drinks during the daytime, but it is just like normal school days for the country's young people.Brunei Darussalam is a Zikir Nation and its people, especially the youth and even the young pupils have learnt from an early age, the true meaning of fasting and the kind of patience required passing their Ramadhan tests with flying colours.

During Ramadhan, the Ministry of Education has set that the morning session for Primary schools is from 7:45am to 11.40am in the morning. The afternoon session begins at 12 noon and ends at 3.55pm in the afternoon, for schools with two sessions. For secondary schools and colleges that have two sessions, the morning session is from 7.30am to 11.50am and from 12 noon to 4pm in the afternoon session.

At the secondary schools and colleges, some students do worry about getting tired quicker because they are fasting. But that is just on their minds, because along the way, or more precisely as the day passes, the students know they have the strength and the guts or courage to carry on and end their Ramadhan mission in high spirits.School authorities also organise appropriate schedules and activities to keep students alert and energetic during the learning sessions.Sleepiness creeps in sometimes, but the teachers know this and have taken measures to overcome it.
