In a week where police resources in Manchester have been stretched to their limit, you can always rely on someone to waste their time.

Despite enduring their most trying week on record in the aftermath of Monday’s devastating terror attack, officers were called out to deal with a rather bizarre dispute between neighbours.

But this was no ordinary neighbour’s dispute, this neighbour’s dispute involved a dead gold fish covered in cheese being posted through a letterbox.

The surreal scenario was shared by officers in Middleton, in Greater Manchester, after the call out yesterday.

GMP Middleton tweeted: ‘Today we’ve dealt with a neighbour dispute where a dead goldfish covered in cheese has been posted through a letterbox.

‘I kid you not.’
