7 People Caught Red-Handed By KPK In Alleged Bribery Case

JAKARTA

 

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have reportedly arrested seven people, including a senior Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) auditor initialed RS and an official from the Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Ministry.

 

The arrests were reportedly related to audit activity at the ministry, as investigators also searched the office of the ministry's official.

 

All suspects were taken to KPK headquarters for questioning.

 

The KPK also seized millions of rupiah from the suspects as evidence.

 

KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah confirmed the arrests.

 

"The operation was conducted in Jakarta, with links to a government institution," Febri said.

 

However, he refused to elaborate on the arrests, saying "questioning is under way. We will be announcing developments in the case over the next day." (dmr)
