Halal Certificate and Halal Label Amendment Order 2017

Owners of restaurant and food entreprenuer in the country should have halal certification and permit. The Halal Certificate and Halal Label Amendment Order gazetted on the 26th of January will take effect tomorrow. A total of 1,400 restaurants have given the halal certificate and around 6,200 products have received halal permit. Towards promoting the Amendment Order, the roadshow to promote the halal certificates and halal label Amendment Order 2017 was held in Belait District this morning.

 

The enforcement of halal certificates will be broadening of the halal certificate scope on a voluntary basis on cosmetic products, used items and services such as logistic. The roadshow delivered by Awang Noorsuffian bin Haji Yahya, religious officer who is also Head of Halal Food Control Section, Belait District Branch discussed on various aspects. A total of 110 participants attended the roadshow including the food entrepreneurs and the restaurant's owner. Attend were Awang Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu, Belait District Head of Religious Officer and Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Petra, Acting Assistant Director of Syariah Affairs. The Roadshow was organised by Halal Food Control Section, Syariah Affairs Department.
