The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam announced that The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and The Japan Foundation will be holding the 11th Japan International Manga Award.
The Japan International Manga Award was established in May 2007 under the initiative of former Minister of Japan’s Foreign Affairs, Taro Aso. According to a press release issued by the embassy, the award is aimed at Manga (Japanese comics) artists who contributed to the spread of the Manga culture overseas and the international cultural exchanges through Manga.
The award has been presented annually since then.
The gold award will be given to the best work and the silver award to three other excellent works. The winners will be invited to Japan by the Japan foundation to attend the award ceremony. During their stay, which generally lasts 10 days, the winners will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with Japanese Manga artists, visit publishing companies and make an excursion to local sites.
Entries close on June 16.
Entries should be sent to the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam or to the PO Box of the 11th Japan International Manga Award.
