Only few days left for the Muslims around the world to perform fasting in the month of Ramadan as well as increasing the religious deeds to gain multitude of blessings through mass Sunat Terawih Prayer. In this regard, 117 Imams have been appointed to perform Sunat Terawih Prayer in 62 mosques in the country. Letter of Appointment Ceremony to the imams was held this afternoon at the Multipurpose Hall, Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kiarong.
Letter of Appointment Ceremony was handed over by Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, Deputy of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs. Department of Mosque Affairs with the collaboration of the Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute have appointed imams from the Al-Quran Scholars, teachers, students and graduates from the institute itself. The collaboration was established since 2006. All the appointed imams will begin their duty on first of Ramadan.
In the morning, the briefing was held for the Mosque's Officers and the members of the institution. The briefing was delivered by Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Mohd Noor, Head of Guidance and Training, Department of Mosque Affairs and instructors from the Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute.
The ceremony was coincided with the Tausyeh Competition prize presentation for the Mosque Officers and guests, Takmir Committee Members and Mosque Congregants, National Mosque Youths Group. Prize presentation was handed over by the Deputy of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
