Deputy Minister of Development, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Ghafar said the award of Outstanding Students Primary School Assessment (PSR) 2016 can be a morale booster to Primary School Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) students to continue to strive to achieve progress and success in education in line with expectations and Wawasan Negara 2035.
Speaking as a member of the Administrative Board of School YSHHB, Dato Paduka reminded that the important thing is the students as recipients of the award was supposed to be a role model to other students in terms of both academic and non-academic, self-discipline and also always maintained the moral and exemplary.
"I understand and I'm convinced the students who received the awards today are because of the result of tireless efforts and hard work of teachers, parents and caregivers who work tirelessly to educate, encourage and support the learning of children," said Dato Paduka as the guest of honor at the Student Award Ceremony PSR 2016 Yayasan Primary school held in the school hall.
Also attended the ceremony was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Taiyibah Qalbul Bolqiah binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Perdana Wazir Sahibul Himmah Wal-Waqar Pengiran Muda Mohamed Bolkiah.
At the ceremony, 37 students received the Outstanding Student Award PSR 2016 with 5As.
Pengiran Wajeeh Al-Bolkiah bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Hakimmuddin also received the Outstanding Student Award PSR 2016.
Meanwhile, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raihaanah Hanaa-ul Bolqiah binti Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil dan Pengiran Anak Adriana Haziqah Jaida Bulqiah binti Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul ‘Ali Yil-Kabier joined the presentation of the students at the event.
Earlier, the Acting Principal of Yayasan Primary School, Awang Alimas bin Haji Mohd. Al explained in his speech that PSR 2016 results is at a very good level with a pass percentage of 97.5 percent, and of the total of 37 students obtained Grade '5A' which is 30.8 percent, while 25 students obtained Grade '4A'.
According to him, the school has recorded 100 percent passes in four subjects, namely Bahasa Melayu, English, Science and MIB and three subjects showed an increase of Grade 'A'.
In conclusion, he said, the quality of the decision is still in at a satisfactory level, although it is not up to 100 percent pass percentage. Meanwhile students who obtained Grade 'C' or above has reached and exceeded the goals established by the Ministry of Education which is over 79 percent.
