BANGKOK

Afghanistan team defeated Brunei team 14-1 in the first game of Futsal Championship Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 in Bangkok last night.

Four goals scored in the first 11 minutes to give Afghanistan the advantage before the break.

National futsal team under-20 will try to rise when they meet Iraq in the second match of the tournament for the first time, tomorrow at 6.00 pm (Brunei time).

National futsal coach, Qusmaini Noor Haji Rusli told his players that a strong start is important for a good result last night, but he admitted his team could not defend the slickery of Afghanistan players who are bigger and has better technical skills.

Afghanistan easily creates opportunites and uses their size advantage well, where Ali Jafari opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a free kick.

Two goals each from Hassan and Jawad Ali Jafari Haidari in the seventh minute of bring Afghanistan 3-0 in front.

Farzad Mahmoodi makes it 4-0, but the Brunei captain, Mohd. Radhi Raduan pulled one back with a stunning long range effort just before the break.

However, three quick goals from Jawad in the first five minutes of the second half to give Afghanistan the advantage 7-1.

Afghanistan's defense limits the movement of the national team who just play in their own area and depends only on the counterattack to score additional goals.

National players, Abdul Azim Boll Hassan and Mohammed Haji Hassan Nasu'rul Wafiy have some opportunity to reduce the gap, but failed.

Morteza Haidari makes 8-1 and two quick goals from Mohammad Wahid samimi in the 29th minute to make the Afghanistan enjoying the 10-1 advantages.

Jawad scored two more goals soon after the attack and each of Zada and Abbas Sharif Morteza Ahmadi completed the scoring to 14-1.
