Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah this morning presented a donation from the proceeds of the Charity Polo Day 2017 to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam.  The function took place at the centre's new building in Kampung Bengkurong.

Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah was greeted by Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini binti Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, the Executive Trustee of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam. The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and 'doa selamat led by Awang Sanip bin Haji Tarip, the Centre's Religious Teacher.

Her Royal Highness then presented a check for the amount of 53 thousand, four hundred sixteen dollars and fifty cents to Pengiran Datin Hajah Noraini.  The contribution came from the proceeds of last week's Charity Polo Day organised the 'Brunei Polo Team'.  This year was the second year the Brunei Polo Team was organising the charity event.  The team is led by Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.  The donation is aimed at assisting Pusat Ehsan which is facing increasing operational costs.

Her Royal Highness, who is the Chairperson of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam also officially, opened the centre's new library. Pusat Ehsan Al Ameerah Al Hajjah Maryam is a non-governmental charity organisation established in 1999 to assist persons with special needs.  The centre now has 181 special needs students at the Kampung Bengkurong complex and fifty three more at its branch in the Belait District.
