The iReady Apprenticeship Programme was announced by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darusalam during the Opening Ceremony of the 13th Legislative Council Session earlier this month. To disseminate information on the programme, JobCentre Brunei is inviting all companies and graduates to attend briefing sessions starting this April.
The briefing sessions will be held separately for companies and graduates. During the briefing sessions, features of the iReady Programme will be shared including the application process, eligibility and also the objectives that it intends to achieve. It is also an open opportunity for companies and graduates to ask questions or seek further clarification or assistance directly to MPPU representatives. Apart from that, the programme aims to increase the marketability and employability of unemployed graduates through a 3 years placement as an apprentice in participating organizations, and apprentices will be given an allowance worth 800 dollars.
Qualified applicants are welcomed to apply for the said programme by registering at JobCentre Brunei through its website at www.jobcentrebrunei.gov.bn. Next, applicants will go through a selection process and once shortlisted, they will be interviewed by the organization and MPPU. If the interview is successful, the first batch of placement to the organization will be as early as 1st April 2017.
Any organizations or companies interested to take in these apprentices must also be registered in JobCentre Brunei and are required to submit the i-Ready demand form which is available on the EIDPMO website. For more information, local jobseekers and the public in general may contact JobCentre Brunei at 2444123 or via email at [email protected], or visit the centre which is open from Monday to Saturday from 7.45 in the morning to 4.30 in the afternoon.
