Four Bruneians were ordered to pay a fine of BND$1,500 or serve three months jail in default, after they pleaded guilty to drug offences at the Magistrates Court yesterday.
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Prosecutor Norizan bin Haji Jaya informed Magistrate Azrimah Abdul Rahman that defendants Awangku Muhammad Wardi bin Pengiran Jafree consumed methylamphetamine on January 7, 2013; Mohamad Al-Yusri bin Haji Ibrahim consumed the same drug on March 12, 2013; Dayangku Siti Nurul Hafizzah binti Pengiran Mat Yusof consumed the drug on July 23, 2014 while Awangku Mohd Amir Khairuddin consumed cannabis on April 12, 2012.
All four defendants were arrested in raids conducted by NCB officers who found no drug related items from them through body searches but urine samples taken from them later tested positive for the drugs they consumed.
