His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam who is also the Inspector General of Police, last afternoon consented to confer a state decoration to the Commissioner of Police of the Republic of Singapore.

The ceremony was held at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consents to confer "Darjah Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang Yang Amat Gemilang Darjah Pertama (D.P.K.T)" to Mr. Hoong Wee Teck, the Commissioner of Police of the Republic of Singapore.

After the ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also received in audience Mr Hoong Wee Teck, the Commissioner of Police of the Republic of Singapore. Accompanying Mr. Hoong Wee Teck at the audience ceremony was His Excellency Mr. Lim Hong Huai, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam; and Mr. SAC Loy Chye Meng, Commander Training Command (TRACOM), Republic of Singapore. Also present at the ceremony were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar, Acting Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office; and Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, Commissioner of Police.

Meanwhile at another part of the Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam received in audience the wife of the Commissioner of Police of the Republic of Singapore.

Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received in audience Madam Nyew Puay Ngim, who is accompanying her husband on an official visit to the country. Also present at the audience ceremony was Datin Hajah Kamariah binti Haji Abdul Hamid, the wife of Commissioner of Police.
