The Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court has sentenced a Malaysian man to 2 years 7 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of cane for two offences under the Immigration Act. Haji Sulong bin Ahmad was found guilty for entering Brunei Darussalam without a valid Immigration Pass and re-entering the country without a written permit from the Controller of Immigration after being ordered to leave the country legally.

Haji Sulong was arrested by the officers from the Law Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department yesterday at a house in Ban 6, Kampong Mulaut in Kilanas.
