45th ASEAN Young Leaders Training Programme

Six youth leaders from several agencies including youth associations in the country have left for the People's Republic of China to attend the 45th ASEAN Young Leaders Training Program".  The 28-day programme begins yesterday.

 

Present at the Brunei International Airport were Awang Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Mr. Fu Feng Shan, the Consul at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the country. During the programme, the participants will participate in a number of activities such as understanding and learning the cultures and arts of the republic. The programme is organised by the All-China Youth Federation. Among other things, it intends to highlight the relations and understanding between the People's Republic of China and the ASEAN member’s countries.

 

Dayang Anna Sophia Anak Angi, a participant, said apart from learning the Chinese culture and traditions, as Brunei's representative, she will also promote the customs and traditions of Brunei Darussalam. She also hopes to bring back the knowledge she gains in the Republic to other youths in the country. Another participant, Awangku Abd Safwan Al-Muqaddim bin Pengiran Sufri said they will have the opportunity to see Chinese cultural dances and demonstrate some of Brunei Darussalam's traditions during the month long training in the republic.
