Politeknik Students Visited TelBru Submarine Cable Station

Twenty-six students from Politeknik Brunei Lumut Campus accompanied by their lecturers paid a visit to TelBru Submarine Cable Station in Tungku yesterday.
The students are currently in their first year of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering programme.
The objectives of the visit were to learn more about the roles and functions of the Submarine Cable station, and to acquire more information about TelBru's international cables and links.
Tungku Submarine Cable is the first international cable telecommunication in Brunei, established on April 28, 1982.
It is the international gateway for Brunei operating with International ISP, and the landing station for international cables.
During the visit, the students toured some of the handling units including operation and maintenance of the international gateways, and were briefed on the functions of equipement involved in the process.
