Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Southeast Asian Teachers Education Network (AsTEN), at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Signing on behalf of KUPU SB was Dr. Haji Adanan bin Haji Besar, Acting Ra'es of KUPU SB; while AsTEN was represented by Dr. Ester B Ogena, Chairperson of AsTEN.

Being a member of AsTEN gives KUPU SB recognition as being a higher religious education institution in the region.

With the MoU signing, KUPU SB will act as a driving force in the success of religious teaching education in Asean -in accordance with the vision and mission of KUPU SB, which is to excel in religious teaching knowledge as well as to uphold religious teaching study so as to provide better educators through integration of knowledge, training and research based on Islamic principles and values.

AsTEN is an association network to connect higher education institutions in Asean, and KUPU SB is one of the members of AsTEN to represent Brunei Darussalam.

Members in AsTEN will cooperate in related education issues particularly teacher education, and at the same time, strengthen cooperation in the field of teaching research among AsTEN members.
