The uniqueness and excellence of a school is often viewed based on the quality of the students it produces. In this regard, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism stressed the time has come for the schools to move faster to expand their potential to achieve uniqueness and excellence.
Speaking at the Excellent Students Award Ceremony of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School for the 2016 BC GCE 'O' Levels Examinations yesterday morning, Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin who is also a member of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Board of Directors recommended that schools develop unique academic and curriculum identities. The Permanent Secretary added, teachers, parents and students should always be open and committed to carry out their tasks more effectively and cooperate to achieve their objectives.
Fifty four students who achieved distinction in several subjects received prizes and certificates of appreciation. Pengiran Nur 'Azeezah binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammad Al-Mokhtar was among the students who received the Best Student Award with six distinctions and 3 credits in the 'O' Levels Examinations. The ceremony took place at the Multi-purpose Hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School.
