The Ministry of Education through its Special Education Unit (SEU) has been organising weekly roadshow session to promote education and learning opportunities for special needs children. The roadshow sessions are held in government secondary schools across the country until May. 10 government secondary schools have hosted the roadshow since its launch in February 7.
Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS) is one of the school hosts, which attracted parents and teachers.
Dr Mona Aliana binti Dato Paduka Haji Alimin, the Acting Deputy Head of the SEU led yesterday’s at MSPSBS.
The goal of the roadshow is to educate schools and parents on the services and programmes provided by the SEU, so that they can assist special needs children to achieve their maximum potential.
New informational posters and leaflets are being circulated in schools, mosques and shopping centres to familiarise the public with the role and functions of the SEU.
Further complementing these efforts are the SEU's weekly open consultation sessions for parents in all four districts.
These sessions are held on Wednesday and Saturday every week, for the Brunei-Muara District; the first and third Saturday of the month in the Belait District; the fourth Saturday of the month in Tutong District; and every second Saturday of the month for the Temburong District.
This week's roadshow sessions will be hosted by Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School, Sultan Sharif All Secondary School and Anthony Abell College.
