Marking the end of the hoisting of national flags nationwide, the giant-sized national flag of Brunei Darussalam raised since 16th Februrary at the Open Area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital has been lowered yesterday afternoon.
The lowering of the national flag was conducted by 20 personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy to the accompaniment of the National Anthem, 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan'.
Subsequently, the giant-sized Brunei Darussalam national flag was handed over to Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The lowering of the giant-sized flag also marks the end of the hoisting of national flags nationwide.
Meanwhile, the lowering of the Brunei Darussalam National Flag in conjunction with 33rd National Day Celebration were also held in the other 3 districts. In Belait District, the event was held at the Cendera Kenangan Recreational Park. Present was Awang Haji Harris bin Othman, Belait District Officer.
In Tutong District, the same event was held at the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex. Present was Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, Acting Tutong District Officer.
The Bangar Town Wharf become the focal point of such ceremony in Temburong district. Present was Haji Mohd Azmi bin Haji Suhaili, Acting Assistant of Temburong District Officer. The flag was later handed over to Superintendent Suhairi bin Haji Sukri, Temburong Police District Commanding Officer as the co-chairman
