Juventus Retain Power Rankings Top Spot Ahead Of Real Madrid And Bayern

It was a night of frustration for Edinson Cavani and Co. as PSG were held by Toulouse.

Shaka Hislop's Power Rankings show little change at the top after contrasting weeks for some of Europe's biggest clubs.

1. Juventus (no change)

After sweeping aside Palermo 4-1 in Serie A, Juventus went to Portugal and, thanks to goals from substitutes Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves, claimed a 2-0 win vs. Porto that gives them total control of the sides' Champions League round-of-16 tie.

2. Real Madrid (no change)

A 2-0 win over Espanyol had the added feel-good factor of Gareth Bale scoring on his return from injury, but then Madrid stumbled. Playing Valencia in one of the two games they have in hand over their title rivals, los Blancos were beaten 2-1.

3. Bayern Munich (no change)

Days after thrashing Arsenal 5-1, Bayern showed all the signs of a Champions League hangover when they fell behind and struggled to create chances at Hertha Berlin. It took until the sixth minute of stoppage time for Robert Lewandowski to save a point.

4. Chelsea (no change)

The Premier League leaders maintained their double dream with a 2-0 win at Wolves in the FA Cup fifth round. Their reward? A quarterfinal tie at home to Man United, which means the Stamford Bridge crowd will once again get to "welcome home" Jose Mourinho.

5. Paris Saint-Germain (new)

Just like Bayern, PSG could not maintain their European form and dropped important points. Unai Emery's men managed just three shots on goal in their 0-0 home draw with Toulouse and so failed to close the three-point gap on Ligue 1 leaders Monaco.

6. Benfica (no change)

The top two in Portugal remain just one point apart after both Porto and Benfica earned weekend wins. Leaders Benfica were made to work hard for their 1-0 triumph at fourth-placed Braga and scored with their only shot on goal, courtesy of Kostas Mitroglou.

8. Monaco (-1)

Having come from behind to earn a league point at Bastia, it looked as though Monaco were going to do even better when, having trailed, they led twice at Man City in the Champions League. They ultimately lost 5-3 but remain very much in the tie.

7. AS Roma (+1)

Since losing 1-0 at Juventus in December, Roma have won seven of eight league games, most recently coasting past Torino 4-1. They're also going well in the Europa League and moved into the last 16 with a 4-1 aggregate win against Villarreal.

9. Sevilla (no change)

A 2-0 win against Eibar consolidated Sevilla's title challenge in La Liga -- they trail leaders Real Madrid by three points -- and was followed by a 2-1 Champions League victory vs. Leicester. The margin of victory in the latter game probably should have been greater, however.

10. Manchester City (new)

When they drew 0-0 at Championship side Huddersfield and then fell behind to Monaco, the chances of Pep Guardiola's side making this week's Top 10 were somewhere between slim and none. But then came that magical second half at the Etihad Stadium...
