Puteh Bin Hj Yusop, a local man aged 55, pleaded guilty as the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate Court has sentenced him to six months imprisonment for possessing one carton and 229 packets of cigarettes of various brands in a house during an inspection carried out at Kampung Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme on the 9th of January this year.

Puteh was remanded at the Jerudong Prison for failing to pay a $9000 fine. Meanwhile, all the cigarettes were confiscated to be destroyed.
